     Thanks for the reply.
not too long after I sent this, I was looking
through CVS mailing list archives and saw
where others had this same problem
and the problem was addresed.

So I did a clean install of
5.9 Beta 12/23/15 19:03 version, and
after running all night haven't had the 
problem anymore.
