I guess the main problem I have here is that am not exactly sure what these -node packages are for???
*_nodes are used to manage a node in the hierarchy of OpenCA. An OpenCA system is a hierarchy of databases (a tree). Every single database is a node of this tree. The interface node is used to manage such a node. This includes initialization of database, backup, recovery and dataexchange with other nodes. The node interface is something like a management interface for the CA.
