Might be worth looking at Net::Server (debian package libnet-perl IIRC).
I will check it today. This would reduce our development efforts and the security risks. Server programming is really risky.
It also supports Unix named pipes (if that isn't clear from above).
Are you sure? It's important because of the better and easier security for local installations.
Do you have some good examples or references for this module?
