Subject: [OpenCA-Devel] db initialization - mysql
Hello,
Using debian/sarge/i386 and latest snap from cvs.

I've installed/ ./configured with DB and MySQL,
and checked all database related things (connection, login, password,
dbname etc. etc.) ten times in config.xml, and
with mysql shell client.
However when I log in with root/root and try
to initialize database, I got "Permission denied",
the same when I try "show sql statements".
The error number is 6296060, the same with initialize db and show sql
statements.

I did ./configure with --enable-dbi, but when I try
to start openca "daemon", I have some dbi related
compilation problem. Before turning back to DB, I also tried
reinstalling perl dbi from CPAN and from OpenCA distro, and
I was not successfied.

So I turned back to DB in config.xml
and configure_etc.sh again, and openca_start didn't result
errors, so I guess DB support is also valid with --enable-dbi.

Questions:
1. If I did ./configure with --enable-dbi, is DB support
turned off automatically? Should I reinstall with --enable-db,
and not expect to DB running when ./configure whas with --enable-dbi ?

2. In config.xml it should be db_type "mysql" or "MySQL" ? Does
it matter? I put there MySQL because Pg was with capital letter.

3. Why can't I see sql statements? This shouldn't be anyway
any connection-related permission.

4. Is ./configure option --hierarchy-level= is still valid, and is going
to be valid in release? It's not reported through ./configure --help,
however looks like this option becomes applied when doing make-install
(make-offline)

Regards
P.
