Finally, by tries/failures, I found out that for MySQL and DBI "mysql" entry is valid (openca starts without problems with this setting). Anyway I still have permission denied for db initialization while logged in as root/root. I checked db_user, db_name, password and mysql grants for logging/using dataabase, and everything looks ok, Anyway I have no permission-related entries in mysql.log. Only thing I found is that in stderr.log of openca I have the following:
OpenCA: General error trapped 6296060: Permission denied. at /usr/local/openca/modules/perl5/OpenCA/UI/HTML.pm line 178. Compilation failed in require at ./openca_start line 62. I also tried disable rbac and recompilation, however it didn't help - I thought that's maybe this is rbac-related. I don't remember which snap I was using previously, however I didn't have such problems with db initialization. In the meantime I also discovered, that properly processed script configure_etc.sh doesn't return empty "Error message:" lines, and when something is wrong in config.xml, it returns lines without message, and "Error message:" string at the start of the line. This was quite annoying because I thought that line without error signature says that there were no errors.
