What is the fix?  Is there any way to obtain the fix, apply it myself, and
then test to ensure that it actually fixes the problem?

BTW, I've been having trouble accessing the CVS repository anonymously...
It doesn't accept any password (even an empty string).

The problem is known and we received a fix from Alexandru Matei but
Massimiliano changed the code after the patch was applied and now we
have the old problem.

Perhaps it takes a week or two to find a solution because I'm not a
specialist for the internals of OpenSSL.
