20-25 minutes ago I checked in a fixed version of ldap-utils.lib which supports LDAP v3 too. It was a simple additonal option during connect (version => $ldapVersion). After battling for entirely to long (and almost giving up), I have discovered something that I thought I should share with others on this list. The latest rendition of openldap (2.1.8) does not provide for version-2 ldap protocol by default and the default slapd.conf doesn't list this even as a commented out item. Be certain to introduce the directive "allow bind_v2" into the slapd, unless your into banging your head against a wall. Will future version of OpenCA support ldap version 3?
If you want to use the new version then you must add an option ldapversion in the files ldap.conf and online.conf.
A question for all users, should we use v2 or v3 as default? Actually I set LDAP v2 as default. Any comments?
Best regards
