If someone on this list would be so kind and inclined to assist a new player in the game, I would appreciate it. Am co-principal investigator on a research project with a good deal of important implications.
What is required is max security, LDAP that spans WAN links, PKI with a totally private CA that will work for both local GRIDs and routers as well as across private in-band channel signalling to remote Grids as Peers or in a two level GRID/MetaGrid hierarchy. Would prefer to run OpenCA on a Linux Open Source Platform. What I do not have access to is Redhat 7.2 as specified in the OpenCA docs as requirement. I have Redhat 7.3, SuSE 8.0 and 8.1. Questions: 1. will OpenCa compile and work on RH 7.3 and/or SuSE 8.0 or 8.1? If anyone on this list has done this, would you be so kind as to share the 'do's' and 'gotcha's'? 2. has anyone implemented OpenCA on a Sun/Linux Grid? 3. has anyone used CA's to secure authentication and access with Cisco routers running IOS 11.x or 12.x? This is my bottleneck right now. I could use Sun's Directory and Identity Server or Novell's and will if I have to for the research project, but part of the goal is to make this completely OSS (Open Source Software). melissa melissa davis 2511 John Eppes Road, #100 Herndon, VA USA 20171 703.793.0522 - home office 703.338.7849 - mobile [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: SourceForge Enterprise Edition + IBM + LinuxWorld = Something 2 See! http://www.vasoftware.com _______________________________________________ Openca-Users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/openca-users
