Alexandre,

Regarding the switched ca and ra, is it possible that you used the wrong hierarchy levels when you were configuring the software? (i.e. --with-hierarchy-level=ra for the CA and vice versa?) If you followed the OpenCA Guide closely, I think there is a typo in there... Going over your question again, is the RA management and the CA management in the right place (/ra and /ca) or are those also reversed? I would check all the specifics in the configuration script you used. It would have to do with hiearchy levels, and maybe some of the prefixes if you specified any of those.

Regarding the database, I don't use an sql database, but I think that error is described in earlier posts and people replied to explain what to check. Did you install LDAP? I am not sure if OpenCA initializes anything in LDAP... Maybe I would also benefit if someone else replies in this thread... From my understanding the Database initialization regards either the OpenCA DB or an SQL database, like mySQL... For sure, LDAP (OpenLDAP) needs to be installed and configured separately before you can use it with OpenCA.

Subject: [Openca-Users] ca_node ra_node switched

Hi,
i've set the two servers : RA & CA but something is strange :
in my ca server the node management URL is at /ra_node and
in my ra server the node management URL is at /ca_node, is it normal?(i made the installation with the make install-ca and make install-ext)
I have another problem when i want to initialize the ra database, i've got an error :
      Error 690
        Configuration Error.
        Error while initializing the database..

Ra and ca servers are running as virtual hosts in the same apache so i have only one sql database, i've already initialized it with the ca(initializing database) maybe
that's why it shouldn't work?(or perhaps it is the ldap which is initialized?i don't really know)
thank you very much by advance for any help.
sincerely,
alexandre
