so far it is less frustrating than with the Apache problem :)
This is a typical problem which is fixed in CVS. You have to checkout openca-0.9 with the release tags openca_0_9_1 (this is the 0.9.1 branch) or openca_0_9_1_2 (this is the 0.9.1.2 release - tagged some hours ago). You need the changed pkiCA.schema and the changed ldap-utils.lib.
It wouldn't let me get 0_9_1_2; CVS gave me an error message that it was not tagged. I am not sure what that means, but you had mentioned that it was tagged some hours ago so maybe it was not available yet... Anyway. The updated ldap-utils.lib fixed the serialNumber problem. However it did not help with the CA-Certificate...
2) When I try to import the CA-Certificate to the LDAP server, the error message says:
"Checking for a special DN where to store CA-certificates ... There is no special DN specified.
Adding valid CA-certificates to the LDAP server ...
Certificate 0 FAILED (error 32: No such object)"
This is a new problem but before you activate the debugging I would recommend you to try the ldap files from 0.9.1.2.
I could not get 0.9.1.2, but as I said I got 0.9.1.1. Which debugging are you referring?
cvs -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/openca login
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/openca checkout -P -r openca_0_9_1_2 openca-0.9
I found a post from another user mentioning problems logging in to CVS anonymously, and I also had problems. It never lets me log in from the first time. I have to try tens of times to log in. Is this due to traffic on the site?
Another problem was regarding a Web server certificate. Following the instructions from the OpenCA guide I create the RA Web server certificate and I provide email address and DNS info. However, when I generate the certificate it doesn't have the email address in it. It says email address: N/A. This causes an error when that certificate is imported in LDAP. Namely error 21.
"Certificate 9 FAILED (error 21: LDAP-add failed: mail: value #0 invalid per syntax)"
Any ideas?
Thanks
Nicholas
