When you get this crypto shell error, do a ps ax and kill any openca process. Then redo openca_start. Ignore the change group error for now. A ps ax should show openca running.
The new snapshot should fix the warnings. There was no problem with OpenCA but a problem with Net::Server which tried to interpret "0 but true" as UID. The fix is available via CVS and snapshots 20031216 and later.
