i have had a similar problem with 0.9.2RC5 in july ("pkcs7 verify data returned status 0x707" thread).
RC6 not tested yet, but i don't think somebody returned old buggy code in newest cvs stream ;-/.
can't it be debian specific problem ? (i would be surprised but...)
