no, you are not alone, I hate frames, too, and so do most of the
people I know.
For the time being and definitely for the whole 0.9.2 branch family
there is no way around frames, the GUI simply does not permit it
without rewriting the whole application.

Michael is currently doing some major work in redesigning the guts
of OpenCA. In this process the web frontend will have to be reworked.
I thought about implementing a completely new web frontend and this
will use a completely new approach to the task. No frames, simple
XHTML and CSS only.
But you will have to wait for some time, the new version really take
some time.
