Hi all,

I think that restricted posts are very good since it keeps spam off the list. If you only have a small question, it doesn't hurt you to subscribe and then unsubscribe. Spammers won't do that.

My 5 cent,

Georg

Dear developers and community,

On the page http://www.openca.info/resources/ we have a link to the title page for OpenCA lists:

http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=20873

which says:

To post to this list, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED], replacing listname with the name of the list, shown below.
openca-announce Low-traffic, restricted posts.
openca-cvsdev
openca-devel
openca-users

At first glance it means that anonymous posting is possible to all lists but openca-announce.

On Sept 14 I tried to post to the openca-users list writing from the mail address, which was not registered with this list.
It took exactly 7 days to get the following answer:

Your request to the Openca-Users mailing list has been rejected by the list moderator. The moderator gave the following reason for rejecting your request: "Non-members are not allowed to post messages to this list. Please subscribe to the mailing list(s) and then send in your message(s) again. More informations are available at http://www.openca.org/openca/. Should you require more assistance, please write to [EMAIL PROTECTED]"

Does it manifest a war between openca.org and openca.info?
What is a "true" policy to post to the lists, and why it is not stated in plain wording on the page http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=20873
Do you think it is a good idea to block anonymous postings to openca-users?
Say if I have a single minor question and not very fond of idea of subscription?
And who is Mr. "project.manager"?

All the best, Sergei
