that´s it, thnx :) No problems with IE from a remote host, but looks
like Firefox (under Linux) cannot handle whatever is send back - at
least, no certificates were imported. I´ll look into those browser
specific things later on ...

You can safely ignore this - mysql does not support the addresses
feature but it is not necerssary...
1. [pub] User->Request a Certificate->Basic Request
2. [pub] Fill in data (except IP/DNS), send request out, note request

If you do this in your browser, it is likely that the browser simply
imports the certificate silently into its certificate store...so pls
have a look at the cert store and see if the certificate has gone there...
