Hi,

I had a similar problem once when I was running out of inodes on the
file system (or if you run out of disk space, the symptoms would
probably be similar). I'm not sure if this helps you since you wrote
that you have just installed the latest versions, but maybe there are
some older installations on the same box which have consumed the inodes
of the file system over the years. Solution would be to put old log
files into a tar or simply copy them elsewhere and remove them from this
box.
