I think there is no need for documentation. It is not important for the CA 
which PKCS#11 interface the browser (e.g. netscape) use. Last week my 
colleague gives away the first smartcard initialized with netscape over an 
openssl-based RA (Gemplus GPK 8000).
It's only a question to give the user an empty card for use with the 
public-webserver or to do this job at yourself.
In the next two or three weeks I will test this with Gemplus and Datakey on 
OpenCA snapshot 20001121.
