Although subject line was a little "incendiary", Gary, I can fully
understand your frustration! As a complete beginner to smartcards and OCF
trying to take in the volume of data was hard enough, let alone struggling
to get it to work when faced with driver errors on a level you couldn't get
to to debug.
I have tried for about 3 weeks now to get Towitoko extern set up under OCF.
I tried using the driver which comes with their Toolbox, Gen_twk.dll, and
then managed to get hold of pure java drivers from G&D (www.gdm.de) and
tried to set these up. Again very frustrating. At this point someone I was
working with had a Gemplus reader which he lent me, and I quickly forgot
about the Towitoko. The level of support in comparison is huge, the pure
Java drivers can be downloaded off their website and everything works great!
So, my suggestion to you is to change to the Gemplus if you can! To be
fair, the drivers from G&D may have worked if I'd persevered - they are
however for their PCT-200 which is supposed to be fully compatible with the
Towitoko extern, and they won't provide any support with them. Let me know
if you want to give them a try and I'll forward them to you.
In light of the problems we have had, I do suggest that someone contacts
Towitoko (maybe someone from OCF?) and explains the problems some of us have
had.
Hope that helps a little,
Dave
