yes, i have to agree with you. after several emails to comcard finally they
sent me some card samples - uninitialized. and of course without software or
any further information. so i wrote several further emails to get
information from comcard about software for initialization. but i didn't get
any response. so i abandoned any attempts to get information from them.
after some time of searching the web, i found a IBM redbook (sg245239) :
SmartCard Case Study. There they used a SmartCard Development Toolkit from
IBM. so i wrote an email to the pervasive computing department of IBM to ask
where to get this software. i got as an answer that IBM no longer develops
smartcard solutions and this software is no longer available. and i should
contact comcard for further information :-(.
now i started working with GemPlus GPK8000 with their alpha version of
CardServices. and they are really cooperative. they sent me initialized card
samples. and they respond to bug-reports very quickly.
since i need a cryptographic smartcard for opencard, there is no alternative
for me (at least no one that i can use).
