As of now, I am not aware of a more elagant way to achieve it.
You can go to My Computer -> Properties -> Device Manager -> Smartcard
Reader. There you will see the readers. Just select the reader and
remove it. If you want to use it again, you can connect it again(since
it is a plug&play device).

Hi all SmartCard Developers!
I'm trying to run the ReadFile demo from OpenCard but it seems like my port
is always busy!!! I' m using Gemplus 410-P (installed on COM1 by using
Gemplus RdrInstall.exe) and JBuilder3 on a Windows 98 PC. Do I have to
disable the Card Reader somehow? How I do that in WIN 98 without NT's
fabulous Resource Manager?
The error message I get is as follows:
