Unlike standards in other industries, smart
card industry standards and specifications say
how products SHOULD NOT behave. This is why
we have so many of them and why they all
appear to be ignored. Afterall if you knew
how to use the product you might want to and
then where would we be?

Cheers, Scott

Subject: [OCF] VISA Debit card

Hi everybody!

I'm wondering if VISA Debit Smart card is supported by OCF. It's a card
that
follows the EMV specification, but in the supported device list from OCF I
found Gemplus MPCOS-EMV to be the only EMV card supported. Is there any
difference between those two cards or not, since they are both EMV cards?
Does anyone know?

If "my" card is not supported please tell me what to do!!!

Thanks in advance

Fredrik

Fair enough for you to say this if it were an ideal world, but in practice
a bank card is supposed only to be accessed froma type approved terminal,
so exactly what the MPCOS-EMV card is I just do not know. Visa debit ought
therefore to be supported only through OCF if the OCF software system has
been approved by Visa...

Peter
