Dear Sir,
The main purpose of the GemXpresso RAD is to make easier the development
of Java Card applet, you have the opportunity to use some part of this
software in your client application but it was not the first goal.
However, you can develop your client application in C using PCSC and
develop your Java card applet with the GemXpresso RAD. Concerning PCSC with
OCF, I would like to focus your attention on the fact that IBM provides a
OCF-PCSC wrapper.
For the deployment, OCF packages can be included in your client JAR file
or delivered as separate archives. If you decide to use the Java(tm)
Communications API defined by SUN to access your reader, see
$RAD_HOME/commApi/readme.htlm for installation Instructions. If you decide
to use PCSC wrapper, you could contact IBM hot line.
Concerning the JDK required, Gemxpresso RAD 2.0 to 2.2 requires JDK1.2 and
gemxpresso RAD 2.3 to 2.4 requires JDK 1.2.2. Unfortunately, JDK 1.3 is not
yet supported because the final product was not available when the RAD was
released. In all cases, there is no Gemplus JDK.
Best regards.
Laurent
