I was poking thru the OCF driver for the Schlumberger Reflex-60 device, and
it seems that its does asynchronously send messages including card
insert/remove.
The driver writer had started another thread to listen to incoming bytes.

Note: Reflex-60 came with the $49 Schlumberger Linux dev system.
