Someone : I would prefer the GNU "copyleft" form, as it protects our
interests fully, and it ensures that OpenCard and it's derivatives stay
OpenSource.

Alain : A very laudable goal. We want OpenCard and its derivatives to
remain forever OpenSource. For me, the term "derivative" denotes a
specialized instance of our OpenCard system. I am not talking about
end-user-apps created with OpenCard as an authoring system.

MP0werd : I disagree, GNU "copyleft" requires that everything
derivative of OpenCard has to be provided with source code, but I would
much prefer that OpenTalk be like PERL, in that it can be added to
professional applications. Nobody would add OpenTalk to their apps if
they had to provide source code for their app.

Alain : I couldn't agree more. We should resolve this issue ASAP. Many
members' participation is conditional on the outcome of this decision,
including my own.

Alain : NB: The licencing of the MetaCard-engin and the licencing of
OpenCard are two separate issues.
