Alain : You're right. Despite the fact that I am an Internet fanatic, I
would prefer to fork out 20$ for a CD than download everthing myself.

Alain : I have no idea what size we will ultimately end up with, but it
is rare these days that software is small enough to fit on a disk. So
rare, in fact, that Apple's new machines no longer sport a floppy
drive.
> MP0werd: I could get a CDR burner ...
Alain : I have a CD burner. They are indeed useful.
> MP0werd : ... and sell the convience of not having to download it,
like you suggested.
Alain : That is indeed what I thought that outfits like RedHat did to
make their money. Legitimate enough, I guess.

Alain : But this makes even more sense than the above "Buy the CD
merely to avoid the downloads" scheme. Value-added is definitely worth
a little extra cash.
Alain : Which brings us to the sticky issue of how the participants of
our groups will make some profit from the work they are contributing to
:
Alain : (1) Will members be able to resell OpenCard on CDROM, as-is,
making money by selling the convience of not having to download it ?
Alain : (2) Or will they bundle some other stuff with it to add enough
value to their offering to justify forking over money for it ?
Alain : (3) Or will they create original end-user products that they
will author with OpenCard ?
Alain : (4) Or will we impose a not-for-profit clause ?
Alain : Option 3 is my preferred option.
