I doubt the few person years estimate. As for who's got that much free
time, ask the Linux, GNU, BSD, Darwin, X, ImageMagic, etc. people. The
Linux/GNU people developed a full operating system. ImageMagic along with
simular programs competes with PhotoShop.

Eventually, we could sell CD's -- which would no doubt be loved by people
with a slower modem.
