Geoff Canyon : Is there a web site that details what the development
status of OpenCard is?
Anthony : Not yet. But I'm putting one up. I've had it waiting for ASIP
from Alain.
Alain : No ASIP but there is FTP access now.
Anthony : I'll do it with perl, HTML, & C -- not an ounce of
AppleScript -- and I'll be proud of it.
Alain : AppleScript is not HyperTalk, but it is considerably easier
than Perl and C, that's for sure.
Anthony : Check the mailing list archives for my hatred of AppleScript.
Alain : I used to shun AppleScript too, but once you get used to it, it
becomes evident that AppleScript is far more powerful in scope and
syntax than HyperTalk. And, besides, it's current and it has a future,
while HyperTalk does not.
Anthony : Also, read up on them to find out what's going on. URL:
<http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/>
Alain : I was pleased to learn that we have an easy to use mail
archive. Thanks for the URL.
Geoff Canyon : What is the status of OpenCard?
Anthony : I'm writing an interpreter, Uli's writing a file system, and
that's about all.
Alain : I understand your frustation, Anthony, and it is true that I
have the nasty, overly-optimistic habit of announcing things too
quickly. BUT ... I don't think that your omission of my work (and the
work of several other members too) is fair. Let's not make a federal
case of of it, though.
