I did not know that OpenCard was already in use (OpenStack is as well).
Since it is, yes, it is a 'bad idea' to use the name OpenCard.
Practically speaking, the same name can cause confusion.
Legally speaking, yes, the people who are already using the name
OpenCard can sue you, asking for damages and to 'cease and desist'
Practically, " you can't get blood from a stone" - you probably do not have
any assets to seize.

However I would recommend changing the name of the project at the earliest 
possibility to avoid confusion and possible difficulty later on.

As I am using a rickety linux I shall write several brief letters.
