Further small correction: while we don't have a contract that *requires* us
to produce a new UI (we did take it on ourselves) the resellers contract we
have was specifically negotiated to cover us selling a version of MetaCard
with a modified UI under a new name. Our product won't even be called
MetaCard, it will be so different that we're going to call it something
completely different and push it as a "new" product.

Right. Our UI is effectively the key to our "MetaCard" marketing stratey,
and has undergone a four figure number of man hours development so far.
Included will be such features as timeline animation, a spellchecking script
editor, and all-new documentation produced by a top tech-writer experienced
in the field (Jeanne DeVoto, co-author of HyperCard 2.2: The Book). We're
currently in private alpha testing. Given the huge commercial investment
we've put into this, we're not planning to release it as open source at this
time. You will find that we're a very responsive vendor though, and
throughout testing and after release we'll be listening to suggestions from
everyone to make and keep our product as easy to use as possible.
We would have put out an invite on this list for people here to join our
alpha testing process, given your interest in the subject. But we have a
strict NDA policy, to prevent anyone (even accidentally) borrowing our ideas
before we release the product. Thus, regrettably, we thought there would be
a conflict of interest inviting people on this list to alpha test.

The name change will be the first corner of our marketing campaign for the
new product. We'll post a press-release to this list to let you know when
that happens.

Kevin
