>Or do you disagree that voting should be a responsibility of partnership?

If I was picky, I'd say voting is a right, and whoever sees it as a
responsibility should move into a dictature for a few years to find out
why. But I'm not, and I don't want to start another discussion like that on
socialism back then, as it doesn't belong on this list.

So, if there is nobody who wants to object to the name vote (any legal
pitfalls?), I won't re-start this vote. Let's get back to work. I hope to
soon be in a state to get back to XBF, and I trust Anthony will again do
his magic and get interpreter to work, even with "do" added to the feature
box.

I'm also happy Eric just announced he'll soon have a partnership
agreement. I think we're going again, which is a good sign.

Now, it'd be cool if someone came up with a GUI for FreeCard. You don't
need to code anything, you don't need to have MetaCard, you needn't be a
genius; just take your favorite draw program, or paper and pencil, and make
designs for what menu item should go where, how the editor windows should
be layouted (I'd suggest moving away from HC's modal dialogs and heading
more for palettes), anything. Just create designs you'd send to the
HyperCard team to show them how to do things right. I don't mind if many
things look just like HC, SC or MC; just fix the things you always thought
wrong and take along the things you always liked. If you think you can do
no good, think again. We need something to start with. We can always add or
change around, but we need people to kick off progress -- here's your
chance.

If you feel better that way, e-mail that stuff to me and I'll take care of
the hassles of placing it on the web site so others on the list can examine
the designs. Or you can send suggestions what you always liked to the list,
or about things that annoy you about HC/MC/SC's user interface. E.g. how
should a color picker look, should we still have tear-off palettes, do we
need a "Window" menu, what menu options do you want to add to ease editing
of buttons (a stack hierarchy window anyone?) etc.

Cheers,
