Martin,
my smart card development team has created the IBM Digital Signature
Solution supporting both browsers (MS IE and Netscape Communicator) for
smart card authentication using a uniform architecture based on PKCS#11 and
MS CAPI/CSP in the Windows environment. The solution supports also e-mail
tools like MS Outlook and Netscape Messenger for S/MIME type e-mail using a
smart card to sign and optionally encrypt mail or documents.
I will send you by separate e-mail my White Paper describing the solution
which will provide you more details,

regards
 Mike Hamann

Subject: [OCF] Smartcards and browsers

I need information on how I can use smartcards with Netscape
Navigator/Communicator and Internet Explorer, in order to perform secure
authentication of a user. I know these browsers have support for
smartcard authentication through certificates and SSL but I don't know
how it works (or how to make it work). Can OCF be any help to me here?
What additional software components do I need?

/Martin Sigbjorn
