Dear OpenCard Community, at CT/ST we've presented our OCF & JavaBeans based smart card development environment OCEAN. OCEAN is a framework for the visual development of smart card aware applications. By using Java and the JavaBeans technology it is possible to assemble even complex solutions out of flexible components without detailed smart card knowledge. Objects on a smartcard can be connected with an User Interface in a visual programming environment (e.g. VisualAge for Java) fast and easily. Due to a strict separation of user interface, application logic and card access components, the resulting applications are independent from card manufacturers specific issues. Solutions are able to work with a variety of different cards and terminals - from today's file system oriented card to the next modern JavaCard. The OCEAN beta release is posted on IBM's Alphaworks Website and can be downloaded for free evaluation. Additionally we've got a link from the "Opencard&More" page (http://www.opencard.org/index-more.html). If you have any questions concerning OCEAN, please feel free to contact me ([EMAIL PROTECTED]). We look forward to your valuable feedback.
