Thanks for the response.
The more input I receive from "those in the know", the more I resign myself to
the following:
1) Choose a smart card vendor with good documentation
2) Read their manual
3) Following the example MFC card services, write similar services for my card
(using the card-specific APDUs)
4) Send the Java code I write to opencard so they can put it on their website
(so no one else has to go through the same headaches)
That said, does anyone have any recommendations on a vendor? I was going to use
the IBM MFC 4.21 cards (recommended in the book), but all of my email requests
to both IBM and ComCard have been ignored. I'm considering Gemplus (I have
their GCR410 reader already).
