Does it block only at start up, or
permanently ? I've noticed that using
PC/SC for certain terminals causes the
system to pause when sending APDUs to
the terminal.

I'm not sure whether it's the underlying
PC/SC architecture is poor, or whether
it's the terminal drivers are written
poorly (I suspect it's both).

Anyway, I've found with Gemplus
terminals the only usable way of using
them with OCF is via the OCF <-> PC/SC
bridge ; the pure java drivers I've come
across don't work. I use PC/SC drivers
for the GCR410 on an IBM ThinkPad 600e
with Win98 OK, also on a Dell Dimension
desktop under NT4.0 OK. Haven't seen
your symptoms on either.

Are your drivers up to date ? The
grserial.vxd I have says it's version
2.4.12 (Look under c:\windows\system and
right click on grserial.vxd, properties)
