--- Comment #77 from Kevin Brace <kevinbr...@gmx.com> --- (In reply to Christopher from comment #74) Hi Christopher, > The BIOS on this system is very limited. Sometime after you suggested increasing it or > decreasing it I remembered a remark from my local guru that 64mb was more > than enough given the graphics 'performance' (for lack of a better term) > that VIA chips provide. I at that time lowered it to 64mb which is its > lowest setting. > > Available frame buffer sizes (in mb) -- 64,128,256,512. > > I have tried all of them and none provide any remedy to this issue. Okay, then this idea to temporarily workaround the bug did not work. I will set up KM400, K8M800, and P4M900-based system with Lubuntu 12.04 i386 to be able to run more experiments on my side. I will use the latest version of the device driver code from the Git repository for testing purposes. Please give me several days to get this ready as I usually install multiple installations of Ubuntu / Lubuntu on each system (i.e., Ubuntu 8.04 LTS, Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, Lubuntu 10.04, Lubuntu 12.04, etc.). I will also try to read and understand how the device drive code works as I am interested in fixing and improving the base code itself.
