--- Comment #82 from Kevin Brace <kevinbr...@gmx.com> --- (In reply to Christopher from comment #81) Hi Christopher, > @ Kevin -- no worries, the purchase idea was just a suggestion. Take all the > time you need -- time is something I have plenty of :) and, on that note, if > you at any time need me to test something, let me know and I will do it as > soon as I reasonably can. I'm not the type that just says "solve it" and > goes off for a nap ;) if I can help I will. Yesterday, I was setting up a computer with Abit KV-80 mainboard (K8M800 chipset, Socket 754). I will be installing 9 favors of Ubuntu / Lubuntu going all the way back to Ubuntu 6.06 LTS, and I will also be installing Athlon 64 soon so that I can do testing against x86-64 (AMD64) instruction set (I currently have a particular version of Sempron that does not support x86-64 instruction set, so I need to replace this with Athlon 64.). I know from experience that that the OpenChrome source code on the anonymous Git repository does not compile without errors on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS, but it compiles fine with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (and Lubuntu 10.04) or later. It probably something to do with ABI version, etc. as to why it does not compile. I need to make slight changes to the patch I posted a few days ago unrelated to your issue, and create another patch that incorporates Benno's patch, but also completely rewrites VIASave and VIARestore functions in via_vgahw.c. After that, I can start learning how memory allocation is being done, so that hopefully it can lead to a fix for the bug you have reported. Regards, Kevin Brace -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
