#241: screen corruption when changing resolutions

When changing to resolution other than X server was started with, the
screen gets corrupted and unusable. Similar random patterns appear on
console virtual terminals after suspend to ram (which is a non-issue to
me, but could be related..)
It is possible to switch back and work with the original resolution.
I have VN800 graphics card running X.Org 7.1 from Debian Etch.
(Not sure if I had submitted the report to the right component)
