Comment:

 No, this is not a defect. There is no DVI support in openchrome, neither
 for integrated TMDS encoder, nor for add-on on a daughterboard. This is a
 missing feature (actually 2 missing features). Setting back to
 enhancement.

 Stefan, if you're still willing to help with the implementation, the
 various bits of code released by VIA should have everything needed, both
 for the integrated TMDS encoder found on the CX700 and for the VT1636
 (DVI-02 daughterboard). The code needs to be cleaned up and adapted for
 openchrome.

 The corresponding documentation should be made available by VIA soonish,
 at least the CX700 integrated TMDS encoder. We're still lobbying to get
 more doc, like the ones for the add-on chips (VT1632, VT1636, etc...).
