Rick, (esp.) here's a gif that shows what CP's are supposed to look like. The normal first one you see is on the left. If you choose Options:Dialog Style, you get the one on the right (it makes itself that small, i.e. rubberbands down to the necessary dimensions, hides the menus, and drops the scrollbars for better or worse (that is, some of my CPs are huge!)). Next I've hit the Close button on the Dialog mode CP to generate the Confirm dialog below. Hitting Yes should return you to a CP like on the left (without Close and Help); No really closes the dialog. (I realized after snapping this that I cut off the bottom of the "developer" mode CP, but trust me, there are no buttons down there nor should there be.) This snap was made of 3.1.4b on SGI.
What we are seeing here on the SGI running openDX 4.0.9 is the CP on the left with the Close-Help buttons at the bottom. Hitting Close then Yes blows DX away.
