Just to follow up on my note yesterday ...
After clearing away the comment on the final #endif in optarg.c,
the build of V4.1.0 completed under Solaris 2.6 (SunOS5.6) using Solaris
C V4.2 and g++ V2.8 as the compilers and gmake to build.
I ran a sample case or two and am surprised to see that Solaris C
and g++ seem to mesh well enough to put the whole package together.
I'll be going back to all GNU compilers now but thought the result of
the mixed compiler exercise might have some entertainment value to the
rest of us. If not, sorry :-).
