Chris,
I tried this and I get colors as an unsigned byte 3 vector. The
colors are listed as [00 00 00] and [ff ff ff]. How are you getting
them to convert to real?
If I turn the colortype to float in ReadImage, then it does convert
the correctly to range from 0 0 0 to 1 1 1.
Are you doing something else?
David
I just noticed something odd that looks wrong.
I have a GIF with only black and white colors in it. Because I don't have
the right working version of openDX and Imagemagick installed, I convert
the GIF to TIF with xv (save, no LZW) then import with ReadImage. I inspect
with Print("rD") and see that the "color map" ranges from [0,0,0] to
[0.99609375, 0.99609375, 0.9960375]. But in xv Color Editor and with the
eyedropper one can prove that the image has only [00,00,00] and [ff,ff,ff].
It seems to me that pure white should be [ff,ff,ff] and in DX should be
[1,1,1].
255/256 = .99609375 exactly which implies that the routine that converts a
TIF colormap to a DX color map is not doing quite the right thing.
What do you think?
