Well, I'm damned but I cannot get the reported behaviour to happen today. I get a "color map" whose first 2 entries are [0,0,0] and [1,1,1] to go with the input color values of byte 00 and byte 01. I've played with every permutation of ReadImage settings and just can't figure out what was going on last week: in fact, I cannot even find the triplet .99609375 entry in this color map but I most definitely transcribed it off the screen into the error report I submitted last week. And there was most definitely not a [1,1,1] entry last week in the second position.
