David Thompson: |It appears that > 60% of the people that have filled out the html |documentation choice have chosen the new design #2. To me, that's a |majority and I'd really like to start committing some of the changes |I'm making with that regard. Now is the time to speak up if you see |any kind of problem. I have redesigned it internally so it will |support text based browsers better and included the search to the |right of Index in the navigation bar at the top instead of at the |bottom as a text link. | |If I don't hear anything, I will start committing this afternoon.
You mentioned not only making the docs available in this format, but also possibly integrating it with the internal help system. Is this within the scope of the changes you're talking about? If so, regarding the latter, is the new help format an option? That is, you can still use the built-in help if desired, right? How does the user switch between the classic and the browser versions? And how, on UNIX does the user tell DX how to process HTML view requests (e.g. netscape -remote, etc.) I think as long as the classic built-in help isn't being removed, it's fine.
