I can't get DX 3.1.4A to run under W98. The same set-up used to work
fine on an older W95 PC.

I'm getting the following error message:
Query value failed on registry value UserDir : rc = 2
If Exceed is installed on this machine, please make sure it is available
to you as a user. Otherwise, make sure another X server is installed
and running.

My set-up is the following:
    W98
    Exceed Version 5.0
    DX 3.1.4A
I have both dial-up networking & a regular TCP/IP network running fine.
I can use exceed to open an X window on my Sun Ultra and I use exceed
for ftp and all other fine things.

I have even checked my registry and there is an exceed UserDir defined
as "C:\program files\exceed\user" I even tried moving the UserDir to
"C:\MyData\exceed\user" since DX doesn't seem to like directory paths
with spaces - no joy.

The only difference between the W98 and the old W95 box seems to be that
if I do not have a dial-up connections made, exceed will prompt for a
connection with the dial-up networking. This didn't used to occur on the
older W95 box. This is odd because it shouldn't need the dial-up stuff.

Any clues would be greatly appreciated.
