I can only offer help with the data path.
DX needs an envinromental variable set, DXDATA.  this can be set in your 
shell to .../samples4.0/data/ or by editing the file ../dx/bin/dxworker.  
Also in ../dx/bin/dxworker the variable DXROOT should be set to where you 
installed the dx directory.  Make sure the path to the dx executable in 
.../dx/bin is in your path statement.


Two comments on server disconnect:  I find if I run dx on one machine and 
display on another, it disconnects frequently.  If anything else is 
running, netscape or emacs for example, it won't execute without 
disconnecting.  Why? I have no idea.
