It's a "recent" bug since DX3.1.4 for NT doesn't have that problem nor did it on any other OS. I just checked against what I have here -- 4.0.9 on AIX and 4.1.0 on Linux don't have the problem either, although 4.1.0 for NT does. I ran it on Linux (RH6.2) and NT (4.0 SP4, Exceed 6.2) versions on a 500 MHz PIII with a Matrox Millenium G200.

I actually got some real work done in the last day or so before discovering today that software rendering and opacity less than 1.0 don't work on the NT 4.1.1 version, at least on my Intergraph card. Can someone who has this version of OpenDX installed on NT try a sample net that uses software rendering and opacity less than 1.0 on a polygonal object (like an isosurface or rubbersheet) and verify if this is true, before we report it as a bug? Thanks. Hardware rendered opacities less than 1.0 appear to work (though of course with the usual nasty artifacts and dog-slow rendering compared to fully opaque surfaces).
