We had a developer work on this when it was still OpenNT. He did
provide a bunch of patches to make it work (but they've not made it
into the current CVS). You may want to search for OpenNT on the
developers list and download the patches.
From everything I've read, you do still need an X-Server such as eXceed.
Can't help on the last question.

Is this possible with windows 2000 and Interix? MS, in their infinite
wisdom, don't even include an X-Server although a window manager is
included. I would assume I'd need Exceed but don't have the finances right
now.
I've "heard" there's a port of XFree for Cygwin, does anybody know of a port
of XFree for Interix or the contact details for the team who are developing
the Cygwin Port?
