I have installed the 4.1.0 binary on an SGI onyx. I am remotely logged
into the SGI onyx from my local SGI Indigo2 workstation. When I try and
create a new visual program I get:
Connection to server servername failed:
Starting DX executive
Memory cache will use 128 MB (8 for small items, 120 for large)
bind: Permission denied
Error during Initialization
can't make UI connection
I have the following set:
DXROOT=/home/Apps/DX/4.1.0/dx
DXSHMEM=0
DXMEMORY=128
DXDATA=/home/Apps/DX/4.1.0/dxsamples-4.0.8/data
and I have /home/Apps/DX/4.1.0/dx/bin in my path.
I tried running dx -execonly and got:
Starting DX executive

Error during Initialization
can't make UI connection
I've searched the mail archives but haven't been able to solve this
problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
