How do you want them labelled? I would assume for the
triangles you'd like the triangle index number? That's
reasonably straightforward to do (and I'll describe if you
say that is in fact what you want). How would you like to
see the edges labeled? That's going to be trickier, but
I imagine someone out there has done this.

Subject: [opendx-users] [Newbie] Triangular meshes?

Hi,
I have just found out about opendx, and have downloaded it and
been playing with it for a couple of hours. So far, I have been quite
impressed. I mainly want to plot volume data sets (tomography/CAT-type)
and 3D scatter plots. However, there is an interest in plotting 3D
structures constructed of triangles. In general, each triangle (and
edge) should be labeled. Also, it would be nice to plot a number of
vectors with respect to each edge.

Is this feasible with OpenDX? In the past, people have used
Matlab, which does a nice job, but is rather useless for large (read: a
lot of triangles) structures. We have tried to have an OpenGL
application, but gave up on the labeling step.

Thanks a lot for your time,
     José
