If he needs a personal firewall, I suggest uninstall ZoneAlarm and install TinyFirewall, which is also free but of far better quality then ZoneAlarm crap. Tinyfirewall is available from http://www.tinysoftware.com. After installing TinyFirewall make sure you add all the Xclients to allow permanently connect to X-SOCK.
